About the Department
The Department of Electronic Engineering at Dawood University of Engineering & Technology (DUET) formerly Dawood College of Engineering & Technology was established in 1964. The Department of Electronic Engineering has the honor to be the pioneer in the field of Electronic Engineering in Pakistan. Due to the ever-increasing interest in the curricula, it has always remained the biggest and the most important department of the University. The Department is located in Main Campus of the DUET, Karachi. The Department has well-furnished and modern classrooms, laboratories, departmental library, and seminar hall. For more than five decades, this department continues to produce technical dexterous engineers with practical skills as a refund in industries. The futuristic approach in its syllabi ensures that the graduates will have technical expertise with excellence in the communication skills to practice professional ethics, joint efforts, and close collaboration in solving the practical problems. It has always remained the motive of this department to play vital role in the research and development of the cutting-edge technologies. Being the oldest department of the university, it has developed a strong linkage with the industries. It also serves as a solution provider for the industry through the involvement of final year students’ projects. Alumni of this department are working at various executive positions in local & multinational organizations. Fresh graduates are being inducted easily in public and private organizations as well as in the academia. The Department of Electronic Engineering has always played a pivotal role in the development and advancement of the disciplines of the Electronic Engineering all over Pakistan through its alumni / students who belong to various provinces of Pakistan and rest of the world. Theoretical and practical applications of the Electronic Engineering play an extremely important role in advancing science and technology. Electronic Engineering has wide range of application fields such as communications, control systems, robotics, electrical power systems, electromagnetic propagation of waves, nano structures, and biomedical applications. The Department of Electronic Engineering has a continuous strategy to strive towards the development and enhancement of quality education and supportive facilities to make it easy for the students to learn and build their career. In this context, Department of Electronic Engineering has inducted highly qualified PhD faculty to meet the requirements and fundamental standards of Engineering. In this regard, the Department of Electronic Engineering has announced its post graduate degree programs for students to acquire expertise in different areas from their primary area of study.
